Watchmen is an important part of comic books brought to us by the great Alan Moore. First printed in the 1980’s the comic is a critique on the superhero concept and as a way to reflect contemporary anxieties. It is a must read for anyone interested in comics, superheroes or telling a compelling story.
It wasn’t until 2009 that Watchmen was finally made into a movie renewing interest in the iconic work. Action figures of Watchmen as well as DVDs of both the Zack Snyder film, the Motion Comic and the animated short of Tales of the Black Freighter have all been released. Several 1/6 scale action figures have been made of the characters, such as Dr. Manhattan and the second Silk Spectre, including a highly articulated doll from Hot Toys. Busts of several of the characters have also been made and been available through Forbidden Planet.
