Oliver Twist-born in a workhouse in the 1830's in England, and apprenticed to an undertaker, escapes to London to seek his fortune. In London, Oliver meets Jack Dawkins a boy his own age and a career criminal Fagin who trains orphan boys to pick pockets for him. Oliver meets up with other characters like Bill Sikes and his lover Nancy. Through many misadventures Oliver finally gets adopted by Mr. Brownlow and moves to the peace and quiet of the country.
