1416986081.01.LZZZZZZZGraphic novels are very popular at our school, and Amelia Rules is a series I have heard about that we do not have. I saw this sitting on the shelf at the public library this week and thought I would read it. I am not a huge fan of this genre, but I am sure there are a lot of my students who could get the humor.
Amelia McBride and her friends attend Joe McCarthy Elementary and their mission this year is to not be unpopular, so they are taking advice from Dr. Victoria Medeochria. Amelia has managed to become unpopular real fast when she yells at most of the student body when they make fun of the outfits she and her friend Rhonda wear for their social studies project on the future. Amelia’s Aunt Tanner tries to help out but in the end Amelia realizes that there are some things that are more important in life than being popular.
